Welcome and Presenter Introduction

Sameer Amini: Welcome to our webinar for Career College Group. Uh, is real estate the right career for you? By tonight, I'm hoping, or by, by the end of the session, I'm hoping every single one of you walk away with knowing the answer to this question. Is this the right career for you? Should you go ahead and invest your time, uh, and your money and resources to start this career? I'm gonna be going through a lot of questions, and by the way, as I go through the webinar, please make sure you put in any questions that you have. There's a bit of a q and a button that you see at the bottom of your Zoom options. Drop all your questions in there.

Sameer Amini: As I go through slides, I will pause from time to time and see if there are any questions. I'll answer and then I'll continue. Okay, let's get started.

What Is a Real Estate Agent?

Sameer Amini: First question, what is a real estate agent? You, you see, um, I, a little bit about me before I even get, uh, into the question. Um, my name is Sameer Amini. I'm been in the business now for 12 years. I have pretty much experienced every, every aspect of the business in terms of residential, commercial. I have been behind the scenes on the management level. I have run brokerages. I have been the top individual for brokerages, uh, with over six, 700 agents. I've, I've been exposed to every side of this business. So again, I'm gonna try my best to answer a lot of the questions tonight with, with a lot of depth and not just surface level answers as much as I can.

Sameer Amini: So with my experience, I've ran two brokerages. I have, uh, gone through the entire education program with a different college before for a number of years. Uh, that's a little bit about me. Now, I remember 12 years ago when I started, I really, I, I'll be honest with you, I did not understand what it meant when we said real estate or real estate agent. I had no idea what this involved. Uh, and just like you in this career night presentation session, I was, I had also joined one. And it was through those sessions that I actually had any idea what the career is about. What is a real estate agent and what does the career offer completely? So let me try and answer that question for you today.

Sameer Amini: So, what is a real estate agent? Imagine in the world we live in, the, some of the issues that I'm going to present to you. For example, let's say that a couple, uh, unfortunately, div goes through a divorce. Uh, now because they're going through their divorce, they have a property, the property that they live in, uh, that's the property they bought together. Now, because of the divorce, they have to sell this property. Now, maybe they have never ever sold a home before and this was their first home that they purchased. And now this becomes a real mountain of a stress for the couple. 'cause not only do they have to deal with the divorce, now they have to deal with selling their home.

Sameer Amini: The home that they most likely fixed, renovated, or their money created so many memories. And now it becomes a mountain of stress because they don't know what does selling mean? How do you sell it? How do you move a property worth two, $3 million and make sure throughout it all you're not making mistakes. So that's where a real estate agent comes in. Real estate agents are individuals that are gonna come in the middle of that process and try to be a guide and every step of that process. So that couple that's going through something hard already, they are now feeling less stressful because you are guiding them through the entire process of how to get prepped the home. Okay, now let's go in the market where we're gonna market it has people come and see the home, how it should be.

Sameer Amini: Okay. Now with these people that like the home, how are the negotiations gonna happen and what terms are best for them? There's so much involved in the middle that, again, that same couple will have no idea what to do throughout the entire process. They may not, they may need to speak to other professionals like home inspectors, lawyers, accountants. They won't know when they need to speak to who, uh, at what point for what reason. So you are literally, this couple's go-to, because you have the answers, you can guide them, you can tell them what the best thing is. And these real estate agents pretty much do this for a living. This is how they earn their income. So they are really experienced in every step of this process.

Sameer Amini: So that is, in a really simple way, I've explained what is a real estate agent, and that's what a real estate agent is. Now, I give you just one scenario, which I do a couple going through divorce. Think of other scenarios. A family, let's say a couple just got married, and, uh, they live in a three story townhouse, and it's all staircases, like, it's, it's all stairs to go anywhere. You have to go through stairs. Now what happens is they, the, they have, they're expecting a baby. So throughout the pregnancy, the stairs become a real issue. They, they can't live in this home anymore 'cause of the stairs. Now it becomes a necessity that they need to sell and move to something that is easier for them, potentially bigger for them

What Agents Do to Prepare and Sell a Property

Sameer Amini: because they, they're increasing their fa the size of their family. Again, they may go through the stress of buying a house. So that's where you commit to guide them through the process. And there's other scenarios I'll give you as a little bit more example, such as a lot of individuals, for example, they may not be able to afford the mortgage. The house, uh, gets taken over by the bank. It becomes, uh, a forced sale on the market. Now, the bank needs a real estate agent to help the bank throughout this entire process. So that's another example. And there's many examples. Uh, but in a nutshell, that is what a real estate agent is. Let's continue. Now, what does a real estate agent do?

Sameer Amini: Now, let's dive deeper in that same scenario that I mentioned, right? A couple going through the divorce. I'm gonna really zoom in now. So let's say you get the call and, uh, the couple, one of them knows you. And once you get the call, what we do from step one is you go through research. You're gonna have to do research on what is the value of their home. That is a discussion you now need to have with them and present your research to them. Once you're all aligned with what the price and the values are, you then go through paperwork. So you have to now draft and prepare paperwork and again, explain it to them so they know what they're signing and what they're getting into.

Sameer Amini: Now that that step is done, and now we've gone on the market, before we go on the market, we have to make sure the house is ready. How we have to make sure the house looks presentable. So if there's a lot of stuff around the house, let's go and call a professional to declutter the home, move around the furniture, bring a stage or maybe make the house look better. So once we declutter, the house looks staged to a degree or maybe the furniture they have, we just move it around for a better presentation. We may then need to bring in, um, a home cleaners. They can clean the entire property, give it a deep clean so it completely sparkles and shines out.

Sameer Amini: Now the house is ready for photos. So we then call a different company to do the full media. So photography, videography. Now the house becomes ready. Now that it's ready, you have to prepare your marketing material. And then a day you set that, this is when we're gonna go live. So you publicly go on the m ls system. So you may have heard of websites such as realtor.ca, so, and any, all these other sites on Google. So that's where the launching of marketing really begins. And you're gonna go through open houses. You're gonna have people call you that have real estate agents representing them, or they don't have any real estate agent on their side. They just saw the house on the internet.

Sameer Amini: Now you need to know how to really talk over the phone, how to be really good at selling the property to somebody in terms of all the features it has. Now you've gone through that process. Someone wants to put an offer. Okay, great. Now comes a whole different battle. How do we negotiate? Well, what price are we gonna end up on? Well, what else they gonna check on? Maybe they're gonna bring their own home inspector and they're gonna check what's wrong with the property. So once all that's done and people are happy, we've come to negotiation. We explain the actual offer itself to the client. We need to explain what does document legally say, how are they bound legally to anything?

Sameer Amini: And after all that is signed, we now have a firm deal. The house is technically sold, but we give it a grace period. We call it a closing period where we wait those two, three months. So the seller gets ready to move out, the buyer gets ready to move in. And on the closing day, which is two, three months after, when we firm the deal, the lawyers get involved and they actually transfer their names on the property. They give the keys to each other, and the monies also get transferred. And that's the day, by the way, that you get paid. Now, I know I just ran you through an entire scenario,

08:45

Supporting Buyers, Landlords and Tenants

Sameer Amini: but I did that on purpose. So you can see this was just one side of the coin, that this is just you selling a property and there's a lot involved, but now you are gonna be, in other scenarios, you're gonna help someone buy a property, you're gonna help someone, uh, find a tenant for their home because this is their investment property, they want to rent it out. You're gonna be involved there too. So the same thing that I pa that the picture I painted for you, similar steps, but in different scenarios with buying, again, bunch of stuff that comes in the middle. But your job ultimately, if I were to now zoom out, is to be that guide and to be the person telling everybody as a leader on what needs to be done, how it's to be done, and what are the options that the clients have, and what are the pros and cons of those options.

Sameer Amini: So you have a lot of moving pieces. Now, if you think that real estate agents are just people that open doors, they wear really nice suits and they drive a nice car and they get paid, uh, yeah, that's not the full picture. That's a really, really optimistic picture. And it looks like a really simple one, but there's so much involved behind the scenes that you're gonna be involved with. Now let's continue. By the way, again, any questions you have, feel free to drop them in the chat. Feel free to click on the Q&A. I will pause here there to see if there are any questions, and I'll talk about it and then I'll continue. So far, there are none, so I'll keep going.

Why Choose a Career in Real Estate?

Sameer Amini: The next question is, why a career as a real estate agent? Now, I just painted a picture for you. Now, you must have been thinking, my goodness, that's so much work. Why would I wanna do this? Now, wait, before you decide, because let me share with you that, uh, personally being in this for 12 years, this is the best career, uh, I could have ever chosen for myself. I wake up every single day com feeling absolutely excited to see what's ahead of me. Every home that you work with, every buyer that you work with, every landlord tenant that you work with. And again, I'm just talking about commercial, uh, residential side. There's a whole commercial side of things where you help people buy and sell businesses.

Sameer Amini: You help people start businesses, you find them units. So there's so much involved. But what's nice about the business is every time you deal with a client, it's almost like a whole new project. It's never the same thing. And that's what's nice about it, is that every day's challenging. You always have something new to learn. Now, why would you get into the career? Let me talk about the benefits getting into real estate. It's exactly as if you're opening up, uh, a business. It is exactly that. The only difference is you don't have a physical store that you're opening up, but you are. Everything else about you opening a business is true. For example, every time you provide services such as helping someone be their guide, you are gonna be paid commissions.

Sameer Amini: Now, those commissions, just to give you a bit of a number, let's, for example, say you helped somebody sell their property and it was worth $1 million. Typically we charge, let's say 5% of the 1 million, but we give half of it to the other agent that brings their buyer and we keep half. That's about what, $25,000 of a paycheck on that one property, that one sale. Now, because this is a business, imagine you have no limit in how much money you can make in this business. If you put the effort and you have contacts and people that trust you, people you've built relationships with that they use you as a guide to buy and sell their property, you could make yourself personally over a million dollars in this business.

Sameer Amini: I know people personally that make well over a million bucks a year just on their commissions, uh, due to the number of properties that they deal with. I know people that make over 200 grand. So there's, there's all these levels of income that you can have. That's the biggest benefit of this business, is there is no limit to how much you make. You don't have to go and ask a boss or someone for a pay raise. You don't have to worry about, uh, am I gonna lose my job tomorrow? No, because you are creating, this is your business. Now, the next positive about this is you decide your timing. You decide when you wanna get tasks done, when things need to be done, so you can fit in.

Sameer Amini: So if you have kids, for example, you could drop off your kids to school and then do some real estate, go to the gym, come back, do some more of your client work. By the time your kids need to be picked up, you can pick them up and then go back. So you can really fit a really balanced lifestyle instead of a nine to five job where you're, you have to drive somewhere, be there for nine to five, and then only after five visits you can do something else, right? But this business, you choose your timing. You set your schedule. That's another amazing, amazing thing about the business. And this is also one of those careers, by the way, that let's, let's actually contrast this to opening a business.

Sameer Amini: If you were to literally open up a restaurant today, just imagine the cost of you buying the equipment for the restaurant, renovating the space to

13:45

Income Potential, Flexibility and Startup Risk

Sameer Amini: make it look like a beautiful restaurant, having employees and then paying rent. The amount of funds required to open up an actual restaurant in a city like Toronto, as an example, is going to be hefty. And the success rate is going to not the greatest, unfortunately. However, in real estate, I always get this question, Sameer, what if I fail? What if I fail in this career? I start the career, but what if I fail? Now, let's define failure and what failure looks like very quickly in real estate. I just gave you an example that if you sell a million dollar property, you can make $25,000. That's your first paycheck. So think about it this way. If you open up this, if you, if you open up this business, your real estate career, you don't really need that much funding to beacon.

Sameer Amini: You just need a phone, a laptop, and, and in a car, assuming you have those three already, you're pretty much good to go. There's, you don't have to renovate somewhere. You don't have to buy equipment anywhere. You don't have to do anything else besides the fact that you, you're on the internet and you have your resources and your training through your brokerage. Now, if you are in real estate for a whole year, and all you do in the entire year is sell one house, well, at least you'll make all your costs for your courses and any other fees that you've had throughout the way that one house will pay all of that. Plus you'll have extra money in your pocket.

Sameer Amini: So that, to me, a failure in real estate is just doing one deal, at least one deal. You have to do at least more than one. You've, you're not, I wouldn't consider you failing. So even with the definition of failing in this real estate business, just one house, you're still walking away with positive money in your pocket. So again, huge, huge positive, um, option for a career in real estate, because even your failure, this is really not that bad if that's what you're afraid of. Okay, um, other positives of real estate career, uh, again, these are big paychecks you're getting. Um, other positives are every time you help a client, again, back to the example of that divorce couple, as you help them and as they navigate this stressful time at the end when you see the smiles on their faces, that that feeling that you get is, is, is absolutely unmatched, uh, the fulfillment that you feel because you've helped someone navigate the one of the most stressful things of their life.

Sameer Amini: I'll give you another example. Let's say someone worked 10 years of their life and saved up enough after 10 years to buy their first home. For them, it's such an emotional decision because they have worked hard for 10 years with one intention in mind to be a homeowner. And you get to be part of that journey and be the guide to get them that home at the end. Again, the, the feeling of fulfillment you get is absolutely unmatched. So that's another reason I I love the business, is you get different kinds of clients properties every time it's new and exciting, and every time it's some little bit of its own challenges. And at the end of the day, if you can make it work and you guide them really well and things work out well, you, you now see the smiles on their faces, which, which again, is extremely fulfilling.

Sameer Amini: And then the family members refer you by the way. They say, I had such an amazing experience with Sameer, you all need to work with him. So now from that one client, I'm gonna get a bunch of other family members that are gonna reach out to me from their family tree. So those are all the positives of a real estate, uh, career. Let's continue. Any questions again, put 'em in the Q&A.

17:22

Skills and Personal Qualities That Support Success

Sameer Amini: Uh, so, uh, before I kind of go into the education path, and what are the exams, let me, let me maybe add a little bit pointers on maybe the skillset. Uh, what do you need for the career? So lemme go back one slide and kind of comment a little bit more into the, so I talked about the good, let's talk about what you need to be successful in this business. So this business is for those people that are very comfortable with unfamiliar faces, meaning you can knock on a door, someone opens the door that you've never met, and you can carry a really good conversation, uh, and you can break the ice and introduce yourself and have a really nice dialogue.

Sameer Amini: If you have that skillset, you're in the right business. This is a people's business. So everything that has to do with communication, listening, dealing with customer service, being able to, uh, create trust and be able to portray your honesty to somebody you are in the right business. This is also a type of business where then some of the negatives are the following. Well, the biggest one is when you do a deal today, you get paid a few months later. So if you go into the business, let's say starting today, you finish all your courses and today's the date you're gonna join a brokerage, do not expect that you're gonna get paid tomorrow or next two weeks or next month. So that is something you need to prepare for and understand that you may not have any income for the first three, four months of you being in real estate.

Sameer Amini: That's one of the negatives, okay? The other negatives are clients can come from work at six o'clock, and so then the clients may be free to put an offer or accept an offer or have any business conversation, but after six, seven o'clock. So you, there are times, by the way, where you could have 10 offers on your client's property, but your client comes from Merck for seven o'clock at night and only then they're ready to review those offers until they review, until you talk to them, until decisions are made, you could work until midnight, unfortunately, to get that house sold. So these are get some of the negatives. Now, this is also a business where you have to be extremely disciplined, meaning you set your goals, you turn those goals into action steps, and you take those action steps consistently every single week.

Sameer Amini: If you struggle with that skillset, this business is gonna be a bit, uh, I'm just gonna be tough for you. So if you already have those habits and these skills that I've mentioned so far is something you feel you can do, then you're indefinitely in the right business. This is not a business where you have to be really good at sales. You do not have to be a great salesperson. This is a business about you being absolutely knowledgeable with integrity. Tell someone what are their options and what are the pros and cons of those options. You don't have to sell someone anything. You just need to be an honest guide for someone and let them make the decisions. Okay? Awesome. Let's continue.

20:34

Ontario’s Education and Examination Path

Sameer Amini: So the education path and what are the exams? Let's talk about it. Well, uh, what career College group, let me go ahead and share the screen. So you're going to see that this is what your path looks like. Uh, you're going to have course 1, 2, 3, after three courses, you're gonna go through what we call a simulation session. That is a mandatory live class where you join and with video and microphones on. And we basically have fun for like five days. And what is the fun exactly? Well, it is everything that you have read. We put them into practice and we start doing activities back to back. We do role plays. You get to practice a lot of real world scenarios with us.

Sameer Amini: And for five straight days, that's all we're doing is simulating scenarios. Then when you finish, we're gonna go through course four. After course four, we're gonna go through another simulation that is just focused for commercial real estate. After, after that that you finish, we're gonna go to course five. And that's a very short one hour course that tells you what to do next. And there's no exam for this, by the way. So if I were to count, you have about six exams in total throughout this entire journey, and you can see the total fees and everything that's there calculated for you. Now, there are two options with Career College Group that you can take. First is self-paced, which means do it on your own.

Sameer Amini: You can register at the comfort of your home with your laptop, go through the e-learning, read everything, finish on your own, and, and go ahead and do the exam online. So you don't need a group or a class if you're in the self-paced again. But for simulation sessions, which you have, two of you do need to be in a live class. Okay? Now the second option, and this is what makes, uh, Career College Group

22:18

Self-Paced and Cohort Learning Options

Sameer Amini: extremely unique, is we have our cohort group. So you can go through this entire courses, all the courses actually by being part of a group from day one, course one. Let me give you a scenario. Let's say that you start your courses next week, we will put you in a group where we all in that group have a schedule. We will say, okay, for course one four weeks, we will have back to back. So let's say Monday, Wednesday nights, we will all get together online and we will talk about maybe the first two chapters of the book. And someone like me would be in those sessions guiding the entire group and answering any questions and giving you real world examples on how the chapter eyes to the real world.

Sameer Amini: So you don't have to memorize anything because you're gonna actually start understanding concepts. And once you understand it, you're not gonna need to memorize anything. So those are what we call the cohort model. And those are the group based sessions, which you are the entire group gets, is given a schedule. So course one will be four weeks, course two will be, let's say eight weeks. And then, so by the time the scheduling is done, which takes, uh, I'm gonna double check less than 10 months, less than nine months to complete the entire program. What's nice about it is you're part of a group. So there's accountability. You see others that are in the same, um, path as you, they're in the same point as you.

Sameer Amini: Uh, there's someone like myself that's gonna be there to answer questions and keep you motivated alone. One of the biggest reasons why the way people fall off is when they start these courses, they feel extremely lonely because they're the only ones. They're not part of a group and they're going about it on their own. And by course too, it can get very dry and it gets, and course is one of the biggest ones. So doing it on your own, it gets extremely tough and people tend to fall off. But the group session that we offer at career college is completely part of your co course. You don't even pay extra for this service. Amazing, by the way, I, I am, the reason I'm enunciating so much on this is because when I started 12 years ago, um, there was no group option.

Sameer Amini: And so I was on my own kind of going through it. And so I really did feel that I'm the only one reading all this. And sometimes I would forget kind of, why am I reading all this again? But when you're part of a group, it's totally different. It's totally different. Amazing. Let's, let's continue. So how the program at CCG works, I, I believe I went through all that just now. Okay, so you can, you can see now one of questions I got in the chat is can we bounce from both self-paced option to the cohort option? Um, so, and just pay extra, uh, when I need to go into cohort, I believe for you can at any point if you're self-paced, you can join into a cohort group.

Sameer Amini: Uh, I believe it's without any cost. There's no additional cost to switching to a cohort group. Okay? Um, so there you go. That's the answer to that question. There's no cost to switch. So if you're ever doing it on your own and you feel it, you can always message our team and we will put you in the group that's in that same point where you are in the course as well. Question number two we have is can you begin the program with self page programming and then switch? Yes, absolutely you can do that. But, uh, if I were you, I would definitely do the group from the beginning. Uh, because the discussions we have in those sessions, by the way, with someone like myself, is extremely valuable.

Sameer Amini: I've had learners, to be honest with you, where they have finished a course early, but they join those sessions every single night because they say there's always something I'm picking up from this, or examples I'll use because I've done, we've done so many deals, so I can always tell you what has happened in the past regarding that. So it's really fun. But yeah, you can absolutely start on your own in the beginning. So the CCG program, this is how it works folks. Okay, so you have the self-paced, the cohort model, you have the fees here, uh, and all of this by the way, you can access if you go to the website link Career College Group.com/realestate.

Registration, Brokerage Training and Early Career Steps

Sameer Amini: Okay? So what to expect once you are a real estate agent, this gets now very, really exciting. Let's say that you have started your courses and it's been now, let's say a few months, let's say six, seven months, and you are done. When you finish your courses, what happens is you now have to join a brokerage. The brokerage that you join starts your actual application to get your RICO registration, also known as your license, okay? Your RICO registration starts with a brokerage that you're gonna choose to join. And you could, by the way, interview multiple brokerages to see which one is the right one for you. But once your RICO application starts, it takes about two weeks. They do a police check.

Sameer Amini: Um, once everything is good, you, they approve you. That takes about two weeks. After the two weeks you are joining a real estate board. One of the prominent real estate boards is the Toronto Real Estate Board, the biggest. So if you're in Toronto, that's the board you're gonna join and there's fees involved there. Now, once you've started real estate career and the first two, three months that your journey would most likely look like this, the brokerage is gonna be training you hands-on, on every single aspect of a transaction. That would take you about a month, month and a half. During that time, you may be asked from your brokerage to go and speak to your colleagues, friends, family, whoever you may know that might be in a need of your services.

Sameer Amini: If you have someone that's interested, then your brokerage could literally hold your hand throughout that entire transaction. So you also learn from it, but the brokerage will help you. So you're not alone doing that entire deal. Then by the time you've done your training and you've done potentially your first deal, that's in about two months that it's done. After the two months, you're gonna most likely be put on some sort of a plan with your brokerage to go and market your, your name, your your picture in a certain community in an area or online, and you're gonna start learning what it means to generate leads and getting more business towards you. Now, as you're doing that and your time is progressing, RECO does require you to now complete your post registration courses.

Sameer Amini: That's gonna be the first two years of you being a registrant, an active registrant. You have to complete some electives in a mandatory course, you can come back to Career College Group and we will help you finish those electives. There are no exams for them, and because every two years your registration with RECO, it has to go through a renewal application. So your first renewal application, which is at the end of the second year of your business, will require you to finish these post registration courses, what we call it. And then after that, your second renewal with RECO is there's no electives or anything.

Timelines, Office Hours and Learner Support

Sameer Amini: You just do an online course with RECO directly. Um, and then that's it. You just keep renewing every two years. Now again, what to expect, I've already explained what to expect in terms of when to expect your first paycheck, where might be your first client coming from, et cetera. So, uh, let's continue. Uh, by the way, there's a question, so let me see the question first. Question three is, is there any fast track cohort available? Uh, just, and okay, so the fast track court, let's, let's, let's talk about it this way. If you are self-paced and you absolutely have a dead timeline, like you need to finish it within four months, let's say, or five months, and you cannot join the cohort because we may be just one or one or two months a little bit more because of our discussions, what you can do is be self-paced, join on your own, and then I personally have office hours.

Sameer Amini: So Mondays from six to 7:00 PM and Wednesdays six to 7:00 PM You can drop in and ask me any question you like, and we'll go through a full discussion if we need to. You have me for those hours. So again, every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. So Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM that one hour. So these three days you can join in and ask and go through anything with me. Okay? So that's a really, really good positive that you have here with us. And again, at any point you can join a cohort group if you feel you need to, but that could be what I would call a fast track. But there's no fast track cohort available currently.

Sameer Amini: Yeah, we have a very specific schedule that we set for the cohort, so everybody goes through it in a really nice progression. So no one is completely rushed and our discussions are to the point, and we talk exactly about the chapters that you have read that week. So we go actually along with your progression. Amazing. So folks, I'm pretty much done when it comes to giving the information about is this the right career path for you or not. Uh, however, if you, again, have questions, go ahead, type them in, add them in the chat. In the meantime, how you can get started is go ahead and visit Career College Group.com/realestate. It is going to take you to this link again.

Sameer Amini: So again, if I were to type it, this is what the link is going to look like. All you do is click the button, apply Now, just given your name and information and our team is extraordinary, and they're going to reach out to you and help you through the entire thing. So whatever's right for you, whatever fits for your schedule and time, we'll make it work and we'll give you the best option. I'm gonna wait a few more seconds or maybe a minute to see if there are any

Audience Questions About Admission and Funding

Sameer Amini: additional questions that come in. So folks, think of it this way. I've been in the business for 12 years, I've gone through it all. You wanna go into this business or you're thinking of going into the business. So ask me any question that you like, think about it this way. I've climbed Mountain Everest, you want to climb it? What would you wanna know? Seeing the chat? Thank you so much, Sarah, appreciate it. Um, I really hope this was worth everyone's time and the information was something that you, you could take with you and it's gonna help you make a decision. I feel I have one more question, Kathy. Kathy, I think your question got, um, only if three words got fit in there.

Sameer Amini: So if you want to add in the full question, I can, I can help answer. Okay, awesome. Let's take a look. Uh, oh, I see Kathy's question. So what is considered equivalent to application requirements? So the application requirements, uh, they're very simple and they require you to have a high school diploma. And if you don't, they make you go through a very simple test. And if you pass that test, you can now actually start getting into your, uh, courses at career college. And you, other considerations would be that you have to be 18 plus, uh, and you have to have in terms of work from, you have to have some sort of, uh, permit to be able to work in Canada.

Sameer Amini: Okay? So when you are registered, you're okay to work in Canada as well. So those are some of the requirements, but you can, by the way, learn more by just visiting our site and all the information in terms of our requirement is on the website as well. Okay? Perfect. Uh, is this OSAP funded course? Uh, unfortunately, as of right now, it's, uh, it's not, uh, it is something we're working towards to see if we can get as of right now, unfortunately it's not. Um, now Kathy has also mentioned that I've, I've graduated in another province. So Kathy, what I actually recommend for you, Kathy, is contact RECO. So just go on Google and type RECO, RECO and call them directly, tell them your situation, and they're going to guide you and tell you how you can actually be on a different kind of a program to get your registration done quicker.

Sameer Amini: So just talk to RECO directly and then talk to our team so you can register on our website and whatever Ricos tells you as well, just let us know and we can always check with them as well, and we'll help you and get this over with you. Now, Tim is asking, does the college connect students with brokerages? Uh, Tim, you know what? We, we would more than happy to do that. Um, I would personally be able to help you do that as well. I could see which area you're in, depending on your area, will tell you all the brokerages that are available. I can give you my own personal preferences. I can tell you what questions to ask them. So by the time everyone finishes their courses, we will have a facilitator with you that will kind of guide you on what to do next.

Sameer Amini: If you're interviewing brokerages, what should you ask them? What kind of questions to ask them. So you, you'll have a lot of help when you get to that point. Amazing. Perfect. Let me just take a look. So someone else has mentioned I've had high, a high school diploma in 19 seven, but not working since, so that's fine. Um, I would say if you don't have your high school diploma now, okay, that's totally fine. You, again, just visit our website, register, let our team know you don't have access to it. You, you're not able to access it. And what we are gonna do is just tell you what kind of a test or a little, um, requirement test that we make you go through.

Sameer Amini: As long as you pass that, you're totally okay. And it's not a hard test, it's just testing your basic, I believe, English, math and, and certain skills. Kathy's also asking how long does it take

Becoming a Broker and Closing Thoughts

Sameer Amini: to become your own broker? So that's a great question. Now, when you become, when you finish your courses in Ontario, technically you're considered a salesperson. Think of it as level one almost. And after two years of being in the business, within those two years, you can go through your broker education, and then after the two years of being in the business, you can apply to become a real estate broker. What is the difference between the two? Honestly, the difference in terms of education is be you just know a lot more on what goes on behind the scenes when it comes to brokerages. So real estate brokerage ha broker has that level of knowledge, plus only a real estate broker can open up their own brokerage or be considered a broker of record.

Sameer Amini: Okay? So let me correct that. Anyone technically can open up a brokerage, but they need a broker of record to be able to run the company. And the broker of record can only be someone who's a real estate broker. Okay, so not a salesperson. Let me answer that question a different way. The only reason you wanna become a real estate broker is because you aim to be in a broker record position in the future. And how long does it take? Again, the courses are very short. Uh, the cost by the way, is also on our website. So if you, if you become, if you go to our site, the cost is there for the courses as well for becoming a real estate broker right here.

Sameer Amini: Let's, let's see if that's there too. Okay, awesome. Uh, what's the difference between a broker of record and a broker? Well, a broker of record is someone who is responsible for the brokerage. If anything goes wrong, if people are not following the rules, it is RECO that comes after the broker of record and says, Hey, can you please answer what is going on? Awesome. I hope that helps. But again, when you join and you start your course, they're going to go through all of this with you. Amazing. All right, folks, I'm gonna wrap it up. Thank you so much for joining. I hope this was worth your time. Uh, I'm looking forward to seeing you all. And so go ahead.

Sameer Amini: If this is something that's right for you, visit our site and register there. Thanks again.
