Our Story

History Timeline

1969

Medix College is founded with a mission to train quality healthcare professionals.
1993

Medix College purchases the former Southwestern Business College in London. New Medix training programs are introduced including Medical Office Administrator and introductory computer courses.
1994

Medical Lab Assistant/Technician and Dental Assisting diplomas are added to the program offerings. Training increases to over 200 students, and the Southwestern Medix campus expands from 5,000 to 7,500 sq. ft.
1995

The need for specialized healthcare training increases. Southwestern Medix places students at London Health Science Centre and other laboratories across the city. Dental students train at the University of Waterloo Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry as a component of the program.
1996

Southwestern Medix adds Chiropractic Office Assistant and Personal Support Worker programs to their prospectus.
1997

Medix College expands to Milton to offer Personal Support Worker training in the area.
1998

Dental Assisting Level II is added to the curriculum in response to Ontario regulations. Level I Dental Assistants from around the province travel to London to receive upgraded training.
2000

Medix College acquires Health Care Vocational Centers (HCVC). Campuses in Ottawa, Toronto and Scarborough are welcomed into the Medix family. Medix College also expands to Brantford to offers the Personal Support Worker program. Medix College supports the need for mental health professionals and launches the Community Service Workers program at the Brantford Location.
2002

Medix adds Community Service Worker and Pharmacy Technician programs to the London Campus - now with 7 specialized healthcare programs. A new campus is opened in Kitchener to train Personal Support Workers.
2003

Our tenth anniversary in London! The 11,000 sq.ft. campus trains 350+ students per year.
2005

Medix Toronto experiences record growth and relocates to a 14,000 sq ft campus in the Lawrence Allen Centre to better serve the city!
2006

Medix Scarborough follows, moving to a 14,000 sq ft campus at Lawrence East & Birchmount.
2007

Medix Toronto adds a 6000 sq ft Massage Therapy Clinic and Career Services Department making it the largest dedicated healthcare school in the Medix family.
2009

Medix acquires ABMT College of Canada in Brampton.
2012

Medix receives its Stage One Canadian Education and Training Accreditation Commission (CETAC) recognition at its GTA ( Brampton, Scarborough, and Toronto ) campuses.
2013

Medix Brampton moves locations to incorporate the skilled trades college, North American Trade Schools into the campus.
2014

Welding and Early Childcare Assistant programs are added to support the needs of the local community.
2015

Medix acquires full institutional accreditation with CETAC.
2023

The Brampton campus moves to a fully-renovated, historically significant building in the heart of the city.
2024

An brand-new Scarborough campus opens at the start of the year.

I attended Medix Brampton location for their Dental Assistant program. I can honestly say this was the best decision I made from the amazing staff who are there to help you with whatever you may need. Like Nature and Diana at the front desk as well as Baman in the financial aid department, and Linda in career services. Not to mention the teachers who genuinely care and are there to provide you there assistance and mentor you specifically I had an amazing experience with Tina and Rosemarie the clinical teachers. I can honestly say these two teachers are an inspiration they are the most amazing teachers I’ve ever had and I couldn’t have done it without them. They were patient and willing to help you at all times, as long as your willing to learn and do your part as a student they will go above and beyond to make sure you leave there classroom prepared for the real world. Overall all I can say is I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a school for Dental Assisting this one is a 10/10 in my books.

I highly recommend Medix college for betterment of your future and your carrier. I took MLTA program , graduated last year and currently working in one of the biggest private Laboratory as a CLA (clinical laboratory assistant) . I'm totally satisfied with the instructors specially Jagath and Lyjo . They covered the whole syllabus very effectively that I was able to give and pass my MLPAO exam right after finishing the placement , arranged by Medix. No doubt this is the best college for a new start in your carrier.

The instructors are always willing to lead a helping hand and teach you to help better you for your future. Special shout out to Bryan he is truely remarkable at his job, he always has his students backs and has so much knowledge to share, even out in the field now he still helps me even though I’m no longer one of his students. Walking out those doors today and looking into my future I feel very confident that I will do well in this trade . I always say “school is what you make it “ if you don’t put in the effort ,ask questions and seek support from your teachers you will not go far .
